Testimonials
Below are testimonies from stove users in Shanxi, China.
“I live with my husband, son (17yrs) and daughter (15yrs). My husband and I are farmers in Xiaohu village of Shanxi province. Our children are good students, and our greatest hope is that they can continue their schooling. In our hometown in Yangquan City, middle school is free, but the county high school and university cost money. We save as much as possible so we can afford the school fees, clothes and better food for our children. The Jinqilin stove has helped us save extra money because we no longer have to buy coal for cooking. Even though this area of Shanxi has many coal mines, coal prices are still very expensive, especially for farmers like ourselves. Since getting the stove in 2008, we’ve been able to save so much money. This stove is helping us afford an education for our children.”
“I was one of the first persons to get a Jinqilin stove 4 years ago. Through a government subsidy program I was able to buy it for a good price. Before the stove, we would throw away our corn cobs. We had no use for them, so we burned them in the fields to get rid of them. Now we save our corn cobs and use it for fuel with our Jinqilin stove. It is so fast and easy to use, much better than the long wait time for our old coal stove. But what I like most about the stove, besides the convenience, is that since buying the stove I’ve saved so much money from not having to buy coal for cooking. It is wonderful, every home in our Shanxi should have one.”
“I have heard about the Jinqilin stove and I am truly hoping that I can use this stove technology. My family of 4 people has farming land, where I grow corn. The leftover corn cobs, which I do not have any use for right now, can be used for the stove. I use so much coal for cooking and heating in my home. If we can save 2 tons of coal by using our leftover corn cobs, we can save so much money!”
“We are poor farmers and we do not make very much money. Life is hard here. I have three children who want to go to high school, and a wife who has chronic health problems. I make extra money by working in the local coal factory, but they don’t always have work available. I can get a little bit of in the coal mines, or slightly less money if I get temporary work outside. I could really use extra money. All we have is our land and our crops. If this stove can really save me from buying coal, our family would be a lot more comfortable.”
